SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) ? Medical and industrial equipment maker Roper Industries Inc. is buying software company Sunquest Information Systems Inc. for approximately $1.42 billion.
Sunquest, based in Tucson, Ariz., provides diagnostic and laboratory software to more than 1,700 hospitals globally.
Roper says the privately owned Sunquest will continue to operate under its own name and market products and services under their current brand names. The buyout is expected to close within 30 days.
Roper, based in Sarasota, Fla., also reported on Monday that it earned $1.15 per share on revenue of $724.9 million in its second quarter. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected earnings of $1.15 per share on revenue of $746.9 million.
It also raised its full-year adjusted earnings outlook to $4.84 to $5 per share. Wall Street predicts $4.84 per share.
