The Houston Texans are still unsure whether Ed Reed will be available in Week 1, while the Cleveland Browns finalize their 2013 draft class signings.
Future Hall of Famer Ed Reed will be suiting up in unfamiliar colors this season after ending his legendary 11-year career in Baltimore to sign with the Houston Texans, but it remains to be seen when exactly that might happen. The team still does not have a timetable for the 34-year-old safety's return from a hip injury suffered in last year's playoffs, according to reports.
Reed suffered the injury during the Ravens' AFC Championship victory over the New England Patriots after receiving what was apparently an intentional kick from Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, an incident that earned Brady a $10,000 fine.

Browns sign Mingo
The 2013 Cleveland Browns draft class is officially on the books after the team's first-round pick, Barkevious Mingo, inked his rookie contract on Sunday. The deal is reportedly good for four years, with a team option for a fifth. Mingo, a pass-rushing defensive end/linebacker out of LSU, was chosen with the No. 6 overall pick in April and is expected to serve primarily as a third-down specialist in his first year with the Browns.
Rams' offense to use more hurry-up, spread formations
The St. Louis Rams will be looking to incorporate more hurry-up counts and spread formation sets into their offensive gameplan during 2013, according to an interview with the team's chief operating officer, Kevin Demoff. Demoff recently sat down for an interview with Ramsondemand.com, during which he discussed the scheme adjustments the arrival of new offensive weapons has provided the coaching staff:
Our coaches noticed that we were more effective in the hurry up/spread concepts a year ago and that not only did we make more plays but we were able to dictate the tempo more and neutralize the pass rush. We now have the personnel to match that style on offense with an offense that can have multiple tight ends, empty backfields and different personnel combinations to try and stress the defense and create mismatches.
Ratliff, Bernadeau injured at Cowboys' camp
The Dallas Cowboys opened training camp on Sunday, and already key players are being held out of practice due to injuries. Defensive tackle Jay Ratliff and offensive guard Mackenzy Bernadeau suffered hamstring injuries during conditioning tests on Saturday, and have been placed on the preseason physically unable to perform list. The severity of these injuries and a timetable for the pair's return to practice is unknown at this time, though Blogging the Boys points out that the preseason PUP is largely precautionary.
