I like to invest RS, 1 lakh in gold which i would need in 1 year time to convert into gold ornaments.

So which one would give me best outcome among e-gold investment or investing it in gold coin ?

Kumar, e-gold is strictly a paper transaction and can only be converted back into money and not the actual gold. Since you need the actual gold in a year from now, I would purchase gold bullion with the lowest premium over spot price. However. I also believe that gold will be cheaper a year from now because of an improving economy, so you might want to hedge your bet. Buy only 1/2 lakh worth of gold now and invest the rest in a 9 month or 12 month certificate of deposit, which pays about 9% interest and buy the other half when you actually need it.
