Freshen Up Your Email Marketing with These 5 Tips! | Mr. Internet ...

While it may seem like a thing of the past, email marketing is still alive and well!? With all the hype of social media, emailing clients and leads seemed to fall to the wayside in exchange for the instant gratification of a more social setting.? And, although?Facebook,?Twitter,?Pinterest?and other social media avenues will continue to be at the forefront of our minds, there?s nothing like the direct approach of having your information in someone?s inbox.

Think about how many times a day you check your email.? I know for me, I enjoy seeing the latest deals or new features of something I?ve signed up for arrive in my inbox.? It somehow feels more personal to me and not just something that?s been posted on a site for everyone to see.? Silly, since the emails go out to a large group of people, but hey; it works to peak my interest!? Not only that, it is a great way to keep yourself and your services at the forefront of peoples? minds.

What?has?changed in email marketing is the cold, all business tone and feel.? Recently, Ann Handley of Entrepreneur magazine, talked about?for today?s audience.? Some of these tips may be obvious, but a few of them may be new to you, and are worth checking out!? I?ve paired these down and updated them for real estate purposes so you can get the most out of each tip!

1. Start with a robust list.??This is an obvious point, but it?s worth talking about.? Now, a robust list doesn?t necessarily mean including every email address you can think of, but making sure your email is going to those who want it!

One way to see if you?re emailing the right people is to check your open rate.? According to a study done by marketing firm, Silverpop, the average open rate is 20%.? If you?re not reaching that number, it may be time to look through your list.? While it?s great to include current and potential clients, look through other emails to make sure you?re not sending to a stale list.? If no one?s opening your emails, it?s time to update!

2. Freshen things up.??You might try sending a different message to those who haven?t opened your email in a while.? Create an off beat subject title or something funny that might wake those disinterested readers to your interesting side!? If that doesn?t help, it may be time to cut them from your list.? It?s better to have interested readers!

Creating fresh content is also important to keep your loyal readers interested.? Don?t be afraid to put your voice out there so people feel more connected to you and what you have to say.

3. Use real images.??With social media breaking down barriers of formality, stock photos are becoming a thing of the past.? Whether you use pictures throughout your email of those in your office, your dog, a new home that just went on the market, or a great local restaurant you love; there?s something much more interesting about real photos.? The best rule of thumb is to keep it fun!? Don?t go overboard with images, content is important too, but find a good balance that will draw people in to your email.

4. Keep it simple.??If you?re trying to use the latest buzz words in order to create hype or to sound cool; it will come across as gimmicky.? Keep it simple and be yourself!? Talk to your audience like you would talk to a friend and always use first person.? It will be easier to read and will speak more to the reader if you?re willing to be real with them.

5. Create shareable moments.? Email marketing shouldn?t be void of social media, but should work with it!? Create ways to share things from your content by place ?like? or ?tweet? buttons throughout the email.? It not only makes your content more interactive, but can be a great way for your contents to share the word about you and your services!

Incorporating these five tips into your email marketing will give readers cause to take notice!? Creating a fresh feel and look will show you care about what you?re sending out and will help give credibility to your content.? You should see your open rate start to rise!
